Blood Diamonds Video

Talk about the “boy who cried music video”… I’ve been talking about this project for six years!!! Needless to say, I am absolutely and utterly thrilled to tell you that we finally finished the thing, and you’ll be able to see it when it premieres on Facebook TOMORROW AT 8PM CST!!!!!

Shortly after I met my (now) wife, Maureen, we began work on this epic. It was shot on a crappy second-hand HD camera with a stuck-on auto-focus, but decked out with wild special effects by Maux. I came up with the basic plot of the video with the help of my friend Jackie Sestak, and Maureen designed a 3D wooden robot named Theo to serve as our cinematic hero.

The video has a wonderful DIY aesthetic, which really makes the special visual effects pop. Thanks to my brother Brett for playing the trickster, and thanks also to Tim and Mike Koelling & Jeff Kropp for being my band in the video.

So, tune into Facebook on Friday at 8pm, and see what the fuss is about!
