There’s a whole world of artificial flavors that any good American can identify. Some of these flavors have nothing whatsoever in common with the natural taste they try to emulate- have you noticed this? Because of repetition- likely during our younger candy eating days- we know well that weird “grape” flavor… the one that looks dark purple but tastes nothing like purple or even green grapes? Then there’s “watermelon”. Pink. It tastes nothing like a slice of watermelon. But we still immediately go “watermelon” when we taste or smell it. Isn’t it incredible?
