WILLIAM IS: biography
From the dust of the pandemic emerged a new force in Chicago’s underground music scene: William Is. He broke ground with his debut Listen Every Day (2021), a largely instrumental work built around the Golden Ratio in both microtonal pitch and spatial/temporal design.
Amidst a string of standalone singles, William released his art-rock opus Roadstar (2023) which quickly ascended to the top 5 of the CHIRP Radio chart in Chicago buoyed by the urban-rock love song and ode to the city’s north-south corridor, “Ashland.”
On November 28, 2025, he will release two companion records: THE ANGEL & THE ALIEN, and its extended counterpart THE ANGEL & THE ALIEN [VEGA EDITION], featuring longer- and occasionally definitive- versions of the same tracks.
